Wicked Grounds - by Black Cat Prods. @ TAPAC (The Auckland Performing Arts Centre) | Auckland | New Zealand

Black Cat Productions presents an exhilarating tale told through contemporary circus arts. With a compelling cast of multidisciplinary kiwi cirque performers, Black Cat Productions’ high flying theatre show will have you on the edge of your seats.

This powerhouse cauldron of physical theatre follows Ava Quinne, a white witch who finds herself falling deep into a dark love story with a cunning, narcissistic Sorcerer, The Trickster, who she unwillingly summons during a Tarot reading gone wrong…

Witness quirky, bright eyed Ava’s journey through the endless Realms of the Universe as her sister, Kitty and her Coven of Witches try to protect her light that houses the essence of innocence. The true magic that lives inside her heart is what the Trickster needs to supercharge his poisonous lust for ultimate power and control of the Light.

In attempts to evade him, follow Ava and Kitty through the Realms as they encounter deities of the Old magic and the New. A supernatural bounty hunter is hot on their trail. A vessel of Destiny interferes with Fate, all leading to an epic show down between the light & the shadows.

Who prevails when the true Light dims in the dark? Can you feel the hungry creatures of the Abyss drawing closer?

Wolves In the Throne Room – Wgtn / Akld @ Valhalla
Dec 4 @ 8:00 pm – Dec 5 @ 11:00 pm
Wolves In the Throne Room - Wgtn / Akld @ Valhalla | Wellington | New Zealand

WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM re-imagine black metal as an ode to rain storms, wood smoke and the wild energies of the Pacific Northwest. Their first studio album, Diadem of 12 Stars (2006) was a genre-dissolving classic that created a melancholy and psychedelic Cascadian atmosphere.

Since that time, Wolves In The Throne Room have become one of the most potent and highly regarded bands in extreme music. The listener encounters crystalline metal riffs and ritualistic laments that sing of endless rain falling upon ancient cedars. Their music is a doorway into a mythic ethereal heathen landscape entered through music, magic and dreams.

Now with their latest offering in THRICE WOVEN, a portal into the dreamworld of Wolves in the Throne Room opens again with a glorious return to the blazing and furious Black Metal that they alone can create!

Riffstock 3 @ The Club Tavern Christchurch
Dec 14 @ 8:00 pm – Dec 15 @ 1:00 am
Riffstock 3 @ The Club Tavern Christchurch | Christchurch | New Zealand

After two successful years, Riffstock is back to finish 2019 with a banger night full of with face melting riffs, psychedelic grooves and rock’n’roll. All night long! Come down and see Christchurch’s heavy hitters in a night of endless riff worship and rock’n’roll! Closing with Tuscoma, one of the heaviest bands out of Wellington, they are sure to deafen those ears!

Pieces Of Molly
The balls to the face group of musicians delivering a killer show without sacrificing their unashamedly heavy, riff- based sound. Their attraction is undeniable, their sound is one to be reckoned with.

EnFire
“THC-fuelled pandemonium”. Three piece heavy psych, mixing elements of classic stoner grooves, desert rock and heavy sludge/doom. EnFire has made a name for themselves in the local scene with crushing riffs and back breaking live performances.

Tuscoma
The New Zealand duo are Fargo’s woodchipper, mincing the corpses of post-hardcore and black metal into a fine red mist: Joe Wright’s deranged drumming and Kurt Williams’ frenetic guitars and demon-possessed vocal delivery serve as the raucous machine’s whirling blades of death.

Thunderwülf
Sludge Kung Foo from Christchurch, fresh out of retirement after a long hiatus. They’re ready to smash some riffs out and tear some walls down.

The Wendys
Dressed as lifeguards to save the musically drowned, THE WENDYS are the drunken threesome love child of Link Wray, Dick Dale and Buddy Holly. The Wendys brand of surf rock and garage punk has been making feet move and butts groove at venues and festivals around the country.
